UPDATE 3: Russian airlines bring back 808 citizens from Thailand

MOSCOW/KHABAROVSK/Bangkok, Apr 7 (PRIME) -- Russian airlines brought back home 808 citizens from Thailand on Tuesday, according to the data obtained by PRIME at the registration counters of airlines in Bangkok.

Aeroflot flew 187 passengers from Bangkok to St. Petersburg and 421 passengers to Moscow, while S7 Airlines flew 200 passengers to Moscow.

The government said in a statement that airlines plan to bring back up to 1,500 Russians in seven flights from Thailand, Japan, and South Korea on Tuesday.

S7 Airlines said in a statement that it had received permits for three evacuation charter flights to bring back Russians from Thailand and Japan.

“S7 Airlines has obtained permits for three outgoing charter flights from Thailand and Japan. On April 7, the airline will carry out flights from Tokyo’s Haneda Airport to Vladivostok and from Bangkok to Novosibirsk and Irkutsk,” the statement read.

Aurora Airlines, part of national flagship carrier Aeroflot, said in a statement that it will fly a plane to Seoul on Tuesday to bring back stranded Russians from South Korea.
